Dr. Avnish Jolly, Chnadigarh, 2nd August :Dr Kewal Krishan, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh was invited to deliver a lecture in the “3rd International Conference on Forensic Science and Medical Science”
held from 28th–29th July 2008 at Naresuan University, Phitsanulok near Bangkok in Thailand. His talk was related to the analysis of footprints in forensic science. This gives an idea how footprints are helpful in establishing personal identity of criminals in forensic examinations. During the international conference, he also served on the panel of the judges to evaluate poster and oral presentation sessions in Forensic Science. He was the only forensic scientist from India to deliver this talk at this international forum. Other invited speakers in Forensic Science and Medical Science from different universities and research institutes from U.S.A., U.K. Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Japan, and Singapore have participated in the conference.
Dr Krishan is a forensic anthropologist and his research papers are published in the world acclaimed journals of forensic sciences like Forensic Science International, Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine, Legal Medicine, Journal of Forensic Odonto-Stomatology, Medical Hypotheses. His research has recently been accepted for publication in American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology. Looking at his contributions in the field of Forensic Anthropology, he has recently been nominated as Editor-in-Chief of “The Internet Journal of Biological Anthropology” Internet Scientific Publications, Texas, USA. He is also serving on the panel of Editorial board of eleven International journals of repute.
