The India Post, CHANDIGARH–August 5, 2008:Dr. Ranju Bansal, Reader in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University has been awarded a major research project on management of breast cancer by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, India.
The project amounts to Rs. 30 lakhs and encompasses the purchase of several important instruments used for research activities. Dr. Ranju Bansal is involved in vigorous research activities pertaining to development of medicinally significant new chemical entities and has completed several research projects funded by various agencies successfully. Her earlier work in this field has already been filed for US, European and Indian patents. The work has been carried out in collaboration with Prof. R. W. Hartmann, a leading German Scientist. Dr. Bansal reports that the substantial grant will help in further exploring and expanding the research findings.
