By Vivek,Chandigarh, June 12 : The members of civil society group “AAWAAZ” made their way for a peaceful demonstration by wearing the jackets having “fight against corruption” printed on them from sector- 44 to Lake urging people to raise their voice against corruption. Members supported Anna Hazare’s demand for Jan Lokpal Bill which shall be drafted by June 30 and Baba Ramdev’s demand of bringing the black money back to the nation that has been stashed away in the foreign banks shall be met by the Government.Threatening the government to be ready to face dire consequences if something wrong happens to Baba Ramdev and questioning the democracy of India; the members said it is unfortunate that Chandigarh administration has imposed Section 144 in the city. Gaurav Goel, an Advocate said “Is it this you call a democracy, where innocents are maltreated for raising voice against corruption and black money? The episode at Ramlila Maidan showcased the death of democracy and violation of Human rights.” He further said that as law abiding citizens, three members of the civil society group are demonstrating the protest peacefully in various parts of the city wearing the jackets conveying the message as section 144 is imposed in the city.
Suresh Bandari and Jai varun Giri, members of AAWAAZ said: “The movement led by Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev is against corruption in general and not against government or any political party, then why the government is so much scared about it.” Arun Singla, advocate said: “The movement is getting unprecedented support from crores of people of the nation and now their anger can not be crushed by lashing atrocities on them.”
