CHANDIGARH- SEPTEMBER 11, 2008: Indian Plastics Institute, Chandigarh Sub-Chapter is organising a "Prof. N.R. Kamath Memorial Endowment Lecture" on the topic "Plastics in Environment" on Sept. 12, 2008 at 3 P.M. in the ICSSR Seminar Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The lecture will be delivered by Mr. Mihir Bannerji, General Manager, Technical Services, Reliance Industries Ltd. Mr. Yogesh Goel, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board will be the Chief Guest.
Mr. Mihir Bannerji will emphasize in his lecture the role and the dependence of man on the plastics in today’s world along with the problems associated with the disposal of the plastics-based consumer products. He will elaborate on the needs for developing technologies for the recycle of plastics as well as the urgent and pressing requirements for the awareness and education of general public for appropriate disposal of waste arising out of use of plastics so that the associated difficulties and problems being experienced due to irresponsible disposal can be controlled according to Dr. Paramjit Singh, Professor, DCET, and Honorary Chairman, IPI, Chandigarh Sub-Chapter.
