Chandigarh, September 29, 2015 : The President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee will visit Chandigarh tomorrow to attend the inaugural session of the International Conference on the project/programme ‘Cooperative Development, Peace and Security in South and Central Asia’ at the Centre for Research in Rural & Industrial Development, Chandigarh . The Governor of Haryana & Punjab Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Punjab Chief Minister, Shri Parkash Singh Badal, Haryana Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar are also expected to be present at the conference.
An autonomous research institute, Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) is one among the 27 research institutes in the country supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) New Delhi. CRRID’s primary focus has been on carrying out socially relevant research on rural and industrial development in the wider social, economic and political context.
In recognition of its contribution to the cause of social science research in a broader national perspective, CRRID was accorded the ‘national status’ in 1985 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
