10 Sep : International Conference on “BIODIVERSITY, ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY: CHALLENGES FOR FUTURE”, was organized by Swami Shraddhanand College, New Delhi from 4th to 6th September, 2008. As many as 150 delegates from Iran, Europe, Australia, Kenya and Sri Lanka took part in the conference. From India, delegates from various states, including Mumbai, Karnataka, Gujarat, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chandigarh, etc. had attended this conference. Mrs. Promila Kaushal, Principal, GCG-11, Chandigarh and President of “PRAKRITI”, the Environment Society of the college presented a paper on the topic “Global Environmental Problems and Solutions” during the 3-day Seminar.
Two other faculty members from the college, Dr.Vishal Sharma, Lecturer in Botany and Ms. Samriddhi Chauhan, Lecturer in Environment Education also attended the conference. Ms. Samriddhi Chauhan also contributed as a Judge for the International Poster Presentation and was also made the Rapporteur during one of the Technical Sessions of the 3-Day International Conference.
