The India Post, Chandigarh, 23rd October, 2008 :Govt. College of Girls-42, organized a medical check-up camp and seminar to create awareness regarding breast cancer among young and old while observing ‘Pink – October’ Outreach Symposium. The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Times of India and Grecian Super – Specialty Hospital.
On this occasion Dr. Shivpreet Samra emphasized that breast cancer is the IInd largest and most common cancer among women in developing countries like India. Dr. Vinod Nibram, lamented about various risk factors, warning signs, diagnosis and staging tests used and treatment for breast cancer. As for the lifestyle diseases they told that it is very important to have proper food and hygienic lifestyle.
At this occasion Grecian hospital conducted the free medical check – up camp, where many tests like blood pressure, weight measurement, blood sugar, E.C.G. for the Staff members of the College, around 100 students came for free – check – up.
College principal Mrs. Shashi Malik appreciated the efforts of the organization for health awareness to students as well as staff members of the college.
