CHANDIGARH, SEPT 23: LIC Cricket Club today met with success in 15th all India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium as they defeated PCA Colts by three wickets and collected four poitns in 15th All India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament here.
Man of the match Sunny Singh (54 , 11x4s) and former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly (54, 4x4s, 1×6) were the main scorers for LIC Cricket Club. LIC were further boosted by Abir Lavasa (25) and Rajesh Patha (22) in getting past the modest total of 208 for 8 posted by PCA Colts in the allotted 50 overs. Sunny Sohal (55) and Amitoz Singh (39) were the main run getters for PCA Colts while Rajesh Patha (3 for 45) and Bablu Kumar (2 for 39) were the main wicket takers for LIC.

At St. John’s Schoo, Sector 26, Indian Oil defeated Assam by 183 runs. Indian Oil plundered the Assam bowling with Pinal Shah leading the assault. He scored a whirlwind 139 off just 126 balls including 6 boundaries and 6x6s. He was ably supported by Cheteshwar Pujara (50, 5x4s) and the two put on a 119 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Aditya Tare (48, 2x4s, 1×6) was the other successful batsman. Parkash Bhagat (3 for 59) and Vikrant Yadav (2 for 49) were the main wicket takers for Assam.
Replying Assam were bundled out for 112 in 35.1 overs with Chintan Shah turning in devastating spell of 8.1-25-5. Balwinder Sandhu (3 for 33) and Presh Patel (2 for 16) were the other wicket takers. Tajinder Singh (30) and Amrinder (29) were the main scorers for Assam. Indian Oil got 5 point, including bonus while Assam got minus one. Pinal shah was declared man of the match

At the DAV School Sector 8, the match between PCC and HPCA Academy was an engrossing affair. HPCA won the toss elected to field. They were soon rattled by the Himachal bowlers as three of their batsmen Karan Goel (6), Ravneet Ricky (8) and Pankaj Dharmani (1) were back in the pavilion with score reading a misrable 35 for 3.
Ravi Inder Singh (77) and Mayank Siddana (78) were involved in a fourth wicket stand of 144 runs in 26 overs. Ravi Inder hit seven fours and one six. Mayank Siddana scored 78 which included 9 fours and two sixes. PCC ended at 218 for all in 47.5 overs.
Bowling honours were shared by Jatinder Mehta, Mohinder Sharma, Kuldeep Diwan and Neeraj Chauhan who took two wickets each.
Replying HPCA also were rattled by early two setbacks before Sangram Singh (58) and Paras Dogra (83) stitched a third wicket partnership of 116 runs before Sangram singh was stumped by Dharmani of the bowling of right arm leg spinner Sarabjeet Ladda for 58.
Paras Dogra continued his lone struggle and was the 9th man out for 83 off 95 balls inclusive of 9x4s and a six. HPCA who were at one stage sitting pretty at 177 for 5 in 35.5 overs and needing 43 runs in 14.1 overs crashed to 184 all out in 40.3 overs due to an incredible spell of a sustained medium pace bowling by Jaskaran who took six wickets for 19 runs of 8.3 overs with one maiden . He was declared man of the match. PCC won the match by 34 runs and garnered 4 points.

In the 4th match between Moody ICL and CM-XI played at Barwala which was reduced to 20 overs due to wet conditions. ICL scored 200 in 20 overs. Michel Vishal scored 88 with 5x4s and 5x6s and Pankaj Joshi remained unbeaten on 56 (4x4s and 3x6s). Replying CM XI were 144 for 9 in 20 overs. Manu Kumar remained unbeaten on 75 off 45 balls with the help of 3x4s and 6x6s. ICL won by 56 runs with bonus. They got 5 points and CM XI minus one point.
