Chandigarh 20th November; The PGI Employees Union took out a protest candle march from PGI Gate to Rally Ground, Sector 25 in protest against the non-fulfillment of their demands. More than 250 members of PGI Union joined protest candle march.
The demands include implementation of Cadre Review, restoration of more than 400 post abolished by Coordination Committee, holding of High Powered Committee meeting, filling up of promotional and direct recruitments posts, Dress Aallowance of Rs. 10,000 per year, removal of pay anomaly of Medical Technologists, H.A., S.A., etc., counting EWC Staff service for ACP / MACP, promotion of existing technicians all cadres, implementation of Dr. Rajwanshi Committee Report on medical facilities, stoppage of generic medicines, separate ward for PGI Staff and dependants, making compassionate appointments, etc.
PGI Employees had strong resentment against the autocratic attitude of Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Medical Superintendent, who refused to implement Dr. Rajwanshi and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Reports for medical facilities and forcing generic medicines to Staff and also restricting medical claims even for takin treatment at the Institute.
Members carried effigy of MS and raised slogans against Medical Superintendent. The effigy was consigned it to flames at Rally Ground, Sector 25.
The Union condemned the negative and callous attitude of PGI Administration, who did not come forward for peaceful resolution of disputes.
