Chandigarh 16th January; The PGI Employees Union in its Executive Body meeting held today has strongly condemned the unreasonable and uncalled delay in issuing the appointment letters to the members of deceased employees recommended for appointment on compassionate grounds. It was unanimously resolved to condemn the indifferent and callous attitude of PGI Administration who has failed to show any sympathy and compassion towards the families of deceased employees living miserable lives. The dependants of employees, who died in 2007 onwards, have been waiting for appointment on compassionate grounds. The Committee on Compassionate Grounds failed to discharge its moral and legal duty for about 3-4 years.
The PGI Administration has more posts to offer under the 5% quota then the dependants recommended by the Committee on Compassionate Grounds. Though, now the Committee has made its recommendations, the PGI Administration is sleeping over the file. The dependants / families of deceased employees have become victim of redtapism and indifferent attitude of PGI Administration.
The Union further decided to launch agitation if Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS is granted further extension or reemployment after completion of his illegal second extension / reemployment on 31.1.2012. On 19.12.2011, the Union has already resolved in the matter and apprised Prof. Yogesh Chawla, DPGI on 20.12.2012.
The Union has resolved to request Prof. Yogesh Chawla, DPGI to personally intervene for an early action in issuing the appointments to eligible dependants / wards of deceased employees. The Union hopes that Mr. S.S.Saini, PPS will be relieved on 31.1.2012 and the unnecessary confrontation on the issue will be avoided.
