Chandigarh 30th December : The PGI MTA in a meeting held with Hon’ble Sh. J.P.Nadda, Union Health Minister & President of PGIMER, Chandigarh has submitted the list of demands and grievances of Medical Technologists of Institute.
The PGI MTA registered its strong protest that the 2nd Cadre Review Anomaly Report of 2006 duly approved by Governing Body on 11.12.2007 and by Ministry of Health and FW, New Delhi in 2012 after 5 years of examination and further approved by Ministry of Finance in June, 2015 has not been implemented by PGI.
Besides it, the PGI MTA demanded the costitution of Committee for 7th CPC, inclusion of one non-faculty staff in Governing Body, which already has two Faculty Staff. Abolition of Contract Labour System, Regularisation of ad-hoc staff, etc.
The PGI MTA reiterated its demand for appointment of a Sr. IAS or Retired High Court Judge or Retired Armed Forces Officer as Director (Administration) of PGI and all other AIIMS otherwise these national Institutes will die natural death because of bad governance and lack of administrative experience of a doctor, who can be appointed as Director (Health, Medical Education and Research).
A number of issues related with general public were raised including Fee and Charges at par with AIIMS, Opening of Pharmacy of Institute to prove medicines and drugs directly to patients as in Tata Memorial Hospital and Bhopal Memorial Hospital (under GOI) as approved by Institute Body in February, 2015.
The MTA informed the Hon’ble Minister that the Chemist Shop in Emergency has been auctioned for Rs. 70 lac per month a day before. Banning Tests and MRI, etc. from outside, Staring Evening OPD for Sr. citizen, and immediate start of Multinetworking Facility to deal with call drop and poor mobile connectivity in OPD and Indoor.
