Chandigarh 9th June : The Bi-annual elections of PGI Employees Union were held on 21.5.2009. The two years term of the elected office bearers of PGI Employees Union had come to an end on 20.5.2011. The Executive Body has lost its legal sanctity and authority after the expiry of its 2 years term. It was requested that the Executive Body should be dissolved and fresh elections may be announced by appointing Chief Electoral Officer but the request was not heeded to by other elected office bearers. I don’t wish to become party to any illegal, unconstitutional and arbitrary act by unauthorisedly continuing as Sr. Vice President of PGI Employees Union. Though, the term of 2 years had expired on 20.5.2011 yet the undersigned has submitted his resignation with immediate effect as a technical formality. It has been requested to immediately dissolve the Executive and announce fresh elections in terms of Rule of 11 of the Rules and Regulations of PGI Employees Union, Chandigarh. The Union has been asked to submit the Statement of Accounts for the year 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, duly audited and passed by Executive Body, to the o/o A.L.C., Sector 30 A, Chandigarh and Labour Officer, PGI, Chandigarh.
