CHANDIGARH, APRIL 9: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil along with senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration today visited 10-storey building was constructed in 48 hours in the Industrial Area, Phase 1 of SAS Nagar Mohali to see the technology and to understand various aspects of the building.
Lauding the efforts of Mr. Harpal Singh, the Punjab Governor appreciated the unique and modern innovative technology used in the construction work of this building. He said that the building is built with ideas more than building material. He said it shows that how the new technology if implemented sincerely can solve the problem of providing shelter and space for all other kinds of activities. He congratulated all who are responsible for developing this method of building.
Apprising Punjab Governor about the salient features of 10 storey building the brain behind the project, S. Harpal Singh disclosed that this is the first building of its kind in the country, first of its kind in India, and is unique in many ways. He further said that all the components were manufactured in the factory, pre-fitted with floors, water supply, wirings, sanitation, air conditioning ducts and everything else. He said “ One can get revenues from the investment within days. Though the cost is almost the same as incurred using conventional techniques, there is lot of gain in saving man-days of work and terms of manpower days and overcoming inflationary increases”.
He maintained that this technology as it unfolded today has vast potential to totally revolutionize the much-needed Infrastructure Technology in the country by rapidly speeding up the construction of Commercial towers, Luxury hotels, High-rise buildings, Hospitals, Educational institutions, Universities and Retail outlets.
