The Regional Passport Office Chandigarh will conduct a Passport Adalat at its premises, Regional Passport Office, SCO 28-32, Sector 34 A, Chandigarh on 21/8/2013 (Wednesday) from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Applicants who have submitted their Passport Applications up to 31-12-2010 (till year 2010) where passports have not been issued as yet will be required to attend the Passport Adalat. All the districts under RPO Chandigarh will be covered in this passport adalat. The Districts Covered are: SAS Nagar (Mohali), Chandigarh, Panchkula, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Bhatinda, Sangrur, Barnala, Patiala, Mansa. Ludhiana, Khanna, Jagraon, Moga. Ambala, Jind, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Bhiwani, Yamuna Nagar, Hissar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa.
Disclosing this Sh Rakesh Agrawal Regional Passport Officer Chandigarh said that in the year 2010 the Chandigarh Passport Office received around 2.40 lakhs applications. Out of those applications around 1000 applications are still pending because of various objections in the files and because of non-submission of required documents. These applicants are being given last opportunity to come to Passport office with original documents and file number receipt for further processing of their applications. Although individual letters have been sent to all such applicants but if any applicant has not received the letter and his passport application is pending in RPO Chandigarh since year 2010 then they can come in the said passport adalat. The information has also been put on the website www.passportindia.gov.in . He said that similar passport adalat will also be organised for files submitted in the year 2011 and 2012 also in the coming weeks.
