CHANDIGARH, NOV 2 :A day-night friendly cricket match between Parliamentarians and Haryana CM XI will be played on November 8 at Ch. Surender Singh Memorial Cricket Stadium in Gurgaon. The match is being organized in memory of Ch. Surender Singh who was a Minister in the present Hooda Government. Doodarshan Sports will be telecasting the match live.
Ch. Surender Singh died in an air crash on March 31 in 2005. Since the birthday of late Ch. Surender Singh is on November 15, the match is organized in this month after fixing time with the Chief Minister. This year parliamentarians from nine different political parties are expected to participate in this match.
Haryana Governor Dr AR Kidwai would be present on the occasions to watch the match. It will be a 35-over each side match which will be sponsored by Coca-Cola.
Vikram Kaul from Jawahar Lal Nehru Sports Trust New Delhi said that MP from Maharastra Mohan Rawale will be captain of the Parliamentarian team while Haryana Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala will captain the CM XI team till the CM arrives in the pavilion.
He said that Union Minister of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjeet Singh, Faridabad MP Avtar Singh Bhadana and Rohtak Deepinder Singh Hooda would also be playing from Parliamentarians side. Union Minister of State for Home Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, MP Satyavrat Chaturvedi, Laksman Singh, Tariq Anwar, Smt. Ranjeet Ranjan, Assaduddin Owaisi, Sarbananda Sonawal, Chetan Chauhan, Kirti Jha Azad and Brig. KP Singh Deo are expected to to be other members of this team.
He said that Finance Minister Birender Singh, Haryana assembly Speaker Dr. Ragubir Singh Kadian, Irriagation Minister Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, Minister for Tourism and Sports Smt. Kiran Choudhary, Parliamentary Secretary Rao Dan Singh and Anil Thakkar, MLA Karan Singh Dalal, Prof. Chattar Pal, Ramkisan Fauji, Dinesh Kaushik, IG Sher Singh, Major Nirpinder Singh Sangwan, Kulbir Singh Beniwal, Political Advisor to CM Prof. Virender Singh, Secretary Power Ashok Lavasa, DC Faridabad Brijender Singh and ADC Panchkula Parveen Kumar are expected to play in the CM XI team.
