CHANDIGARH, JAN 22 ; Unseeded Paramveer Singh Bajwa from Chandigarh toppled top seed Teeradon Tortrakul of Thailand in three sets in the boys singles pre-quarter-final round match in the ONGC ITF Junior Tennis Tournament being played in Kolkata today. Bajwa’s displayed his authority in the first set which be won even without dropping a single game at 6-0. The top seed from Thailand rallied to win the second set at 6-2. Tied one set all, Bajwa established an early 3-0 lead. Teeradon broke Bajwa to make it 2-3. Bajwa wrapped up the set and match with a 6-3 margin.
Third seed Garvit Batra ousted Nawakarn Khunjan of Thailand in straight sets 6-1 6-2 while fourth seed Clement Larriere of France struggled to beatt Shao-Fan LIU (Taipei) 6-1 3-6 6-1.
Ojasvinee Singh prevailed over Shweta Sangwan in an all-India pre-quarter-finals girls singles pre-quarter-final round in three sets 6-3,4-6,6-3.Karman Kaur Thandi also toiled to get the better of Nandini Dasin three sets 6-2,0-6,6-3. Top seed Pranjala Yadlapalli outplayed Anjana Suresh of Canada in straight sets.
