The India Post,Chandigarh, 1 December, 2008 :The Department of Biophysics, Panjab University will be holding the National Seminar on Translational Research in Molecular Oncology at the ICSSR Complex, Panjab University Campus. The day long seminar on 6th December 2008 will be inaugurated by Prof. R C Sobti, the Vice-Chancellor and a renowned cancer biologist himself, while the keynote address ‘Molecular Oncology in Pancreatic Cancer’ will be delivered by Prof. J D Wig from the Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector-32 and also the former Head of the Department of General Surgery, PGIMER. The concluding remark on the seminar will be delivered by Prof. B C Das, the former Founder-Director, ICMR Institute for Cytology and Preventive Oncology, Delhi and currently at the BR Ambedkar Centre for Biomedical Research, University of Delhi . Dr. Das is a renowned oncologist and had been awarded recently with the JC Bose National Fellowship.
A large number of invited eminent experts will share their research experience in the field of cancer biology, molecular mechanism, prevention and detection, which is expected to be attended by many active researchers.
