The India Post, Chandigarh, 6th January , 2009 :A two days State Level Orientation Programme on ‘Procedures of Evaluation and Monitoring’ for Key Resource Persons and active literacy functionaries of Punjab State is being organized by the Regional Resource Centre for Adult & Continuing Education on 6th and 7th January 2009 at ICSSR Complex, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Fifty-five participants from 12 districts are participating in the programme. The Procedures of Monitoring and Evaluation were discussed by the faculty members of Regional Resource Centre emphasizing on the objectives and monitoring which needs to be ensured to be implemented by Zila Sakharta Simiti (ZSS) in the field.
The causes and reasons of slow progress are to be monitored and evaluated periodically to improve the programme. The issues were discussed with the participants. They expressed the problems being faced by their respective districts, which were taken up in detail by the faculty of the department (Director, Dr. Manjeet Paintal, Dr. Anuradha Sharma, Dr. Ashwani Sharma and Dr. Navleen Kaur).
The participating districts are Nawashahar, Ropar, Patiala , Hoshiarpur, Mansa, Ferozpur, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar , Tarataran, Muktsar and Bhatinda.
The TLC/PLP and CE programmes of Adult Literacy are being funded by the National Literacy Mission, Govt. of India and the Academic and Technical support is being provided by SRCs in other states and by RRC in Punjab and U.T. Chandigarh according to Dr. Manjeet Paintal, Director, R.R.C., P.U.
