CHANDIGARH–July 10, 2008: Centre for Adult, Continuing Education & Extension, Panjab University , Chandigarh (CACEE) organized Orientation Course on Tree Plantation of Herbal Trees and Environment at Govt. Senior Secondary School , Khudda Lahora. 60 students and community attended the Orientation Course.
Mrs Renu Gahdhi, Co-ordinator of the program expressed that the main objective was to guide the youth about the invisible crises to the society because of global warming and how the herbal plants and trees would help the society to save the environment and health of the society. She discussed with the community that due to population explosion and technological advancement the environment which include air, water and earth is polluting day by day. There is a need to educate the masses to use the natural resources judicially specially the electronic gadgets and polythene bags to save the earth. Tree Plantation would help to save the environment.
Mrs. Amita Khanna, Principal of the school initiated the Tree Plantation Drive of Herbal Trees in the school premises and guided the youth how they could protect the plants in their herbal gardens in school. She expressed that there is a need to control the waste and garbage should not be dumped in open space rather it should be dumped in the insulated dustbin.
Mrs. Pushpanjali, Incharge Ashoka Club spoke on our day to day habits and skills to save environment would help the society about the invisible crises faced by the population because of global warming according to the Director of the CACEE.
