Chandigarh, 11th June: Dr SPS Sohal Director Health & FW Punjab here today informed that there is no case of dengue in the state at present. He said that out of 3 suspected dengue cases reported from Bathinda, 2 tested negative after proper laboratory investigations carried in the govt hospitals. The third suspected case has been shifted to DMC from a private hospital of Bathinda owing to some other ailment, where the doctors found the blood platelet count of the patient to be 2 lakh which is normal.
The Director Health Services appealed the people for not to panic as all neceassay arrangements are in place to tackle any adverse situation. Testing facilities are available in all the district hospitals of the state. Dr Sohal, however urged the people to keep themselves protected from mosquito bites as far as possible. In case symptoms like high fever, sharp headache, rashes on skin appear than the patient must visit the nearest govt hospital for further check-up. For any other information in this regard the govt doctor must be referred.
