Chandigarh: 27 Dec : 101 NCC Cadets from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate are fully geared up for performing at Rajpath, New Delhi on Republic Day celebration this year. During a dress rehearsal held today at Air Force station High Ground Brig Rajendra Singh and other senior Officers from the Directorate assessed their performances and motivated them for doing further better. Col K J Singh Group Commander , Ludhiana supervised 40 days special camp which concluded today . Lt Col Rajesh Sharma will proceed along with the contingent as Contingent Commander.
During their 40 days camp cadets were trained and screened in arm drills, shooting and cultural programme in two phases. The first phase of this camp held in Ludhiana for 20 days , subsequently in next phase,for 20 days at Air Force High Ground, 101 Cadets are selected out of which 42 are from Punjab, 31 from Haryana 20 from Himachal Pradesh and 08 from Chandigarh. A NCC Band consists of 45 cadets from Sainik School Kapurthala and 08 Cadets from Horse Riding team shall join the camp tomorrow to proceed along with the Contingent on Wednesday.
