CHANDIGARH- SEPTEMBER 10, 2008: Dr. Tehal Kohali, Professor Emeritus, Department of Education, Panjab University and the founder President, Indian National Portage Association has been selected for National Award by National Trust of India. A communication to this effect has been received from Sh. S.K. Mohanty, Deputy Director (Programme) of the National Trust.
The award ‘Best Individual Professional Category’ will be conferred on her by Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India during the 8th Annual General Meeting of the National Trust to be held on 12th Sept. 2008 at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Circular Road, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
Dr. Tehal Kohli has more than 101 research publications to her credit published in national & international journals which include 20 Ph.D., 10 M. Phil., 21 M.A. (Education) and 51 M.Ed.. Education during her 39 years long teaching career. She has attended 45 International Level Seminars, 51 National/Regional Level and 33 State Level Seminars/Conferences.
Dr. Tehal Kohli is a Life Member of Association of Psychology & Education and Counseling of Asia; Association of Scientific Study of Mental Deficiency (IASSMD); International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy; Commonwealth Association of Mental Handicaps and Developmental Deficiency; International League of Societies for personal with Mental Handicaps; American Psychological Association; American Association for Counseling and Development; Member of Executive Board of International Portage Association at international level and is a Life Membership of Indian Science Congress; Indian Psychological Association; Founder & Life –President, Indian National Portage Association; Life Member of Senior Citizen and Member of the National Council for Pre-School & Elementary Teacher Education; Indian Association for Mental Deficiency; Advisory Committee of ‘Gyaneshwari Mansik Viklang Kalyan Samiti; Advisory Committee of Model School for the Mentally deficient children, New Delhi; Indian Association for Social Psychiatry; and Indian Red Cross Society.
