Chandigarh 13thFebruary; The Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central) had invited PGI management and PGI Medical Technologists Association for conciliation proceedings today in the wake of one day strike notice for 17th February.
The PGI MTA insisted for a concrete proposal and clear line of action from PGI management on its 4 point charter of demand namely; Implementation of Cadre Review report submitted in January, 2005, finalizing the Pay Anomaly Committee report constituted on 4.3.2009, implementation of Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme and implementation of Hon’ble High Court orders dated 14.1.2010 for withdrawal charge sheets and release of retirements and service benefits of employees victimised in the year 1997. These employees had already been exonerated by the Trial Court on 5.2.2008.
The PGI management agreed to release the arrears of Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme w.e.f. 1.9.2008 within one week. Further, it agreed to act upon other three demands by 10th of March, 2011. Sh. L. K. Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner recorded the statement of PGI management. In view of this time bound assurance, the PGI MTA has decided to postpone its decision of one day mass casual leave on 17th February, 2011.
The General Body of PGI MTA which was fixed for today decided to defer the call of one day strike on 17th February in view of above developments. However, it was decided to convene the General Body on 11.3.2010. In case, the PGI management did not keep its words, the General Body will fix the date for one day mass casual leave for 3rd week of March, 2011.
