CHANDIGARH—A delegation comprising Satinder Singh councilor, Ranbir Bhatti, Vice-President BJP Chandigarh, Brij Mohan and Harjit Singh demanding CBI inquiry against Mohd Shayin, deputy commissioner, Chandigarh in a memorandum submitted to Kaptain Singh Solanki, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh.
Memorandum alleged misuse of official power when he issued notices deliberately to majority of voters to delay the election of marketing committee despite High Court orders. He approached the high court but his application was rejected by the hon’ble high court and issued notices to respondents by names for initiating contempt proceedings to be heard on April 20 states the memorandum.
It also leveled serious charge against his former personal assistant who recently has been in the news. It states that the official obtained loan of Rs 2.50 lakh on 6.9.2014 from the Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank in Sector 22 under the pressure of Mohd Shayin. She deposited more than Rs 4.50 lakh on 1.11.2014 and further deposited more than Rs 67 lakh on 25.2.2015. This amount has been withdrawn by the official on 27.2.2015 which smacks mala fide, states the memorandum. The said official purchased a flat in the Punjab and Sind Bank Cooperative Housing Society fraudulently.
Mr Satinder Singh said that the Administrator UT has assured the delegation to do the needful and send the memorandum along with annexures to the Adviser to Administrator, UT Chandigarh to examine the matter.
