The India Post, Chandigarh, 16th December, 2008 :The International Napoleonic Society (INS), Canada has conferred upon the prestigious MEDAL OF HONOUR to Dr. Vandana Disodia, Director Industries, Chandigarh, who is a fellow member of the INS.
The Medal has been conferred for her outstanding contribution towards the promotion of literature on Emperor Napoleon. The INS recognized the efforts made by her for such promotion by way of circulation of literature in various Government Schools, private institutions, involvement of various NGOs, deliberations with the publishers etc. Not only this, books on Emperor Napoleon had also been donated to various charitable institutions.
Dr. Vandana Disodia owes this Award to Late Dr. Ben Weider, the founder of INS, who passed away recently. It is pertinent to mention here that the INS has its branches in 46 countries all working in one direction towards expansion of Napoleonic research worldwide. The fellowship is not open to the general public but is awarded to only to distinction holders in the field of history, Vice Chancellors, Scholars, historians etc.
