Jorawer Singh, Chandigarh, August 28, 2009: Over 110 students from various local college participated in the two days creative writing workshop, started today by Hindi Department of MCM DAV College for Women in collaboration with the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi. The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Naresh Kaushal, Editor – Dainik Tribune and senior journalist. Expressing his concern over the future of print media Sh. Kaushal stressed on the significance of promoting creative writing.
The Deputy Director of the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Dharamswaroop Gupt related the importance of creativity with the evolution of mankind and stressed on the significance of responsiveness of the society on the mundane process as a pertinent part of development.
The ex-director of the Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University, Dr. Iqbal Singh praised the proficiency of the participants in creative writing caliber and their beautiful expression. Sh. Chadda from Doordarshan Suratgarh, highlighted the significance of creative expression in the development of the society.
