30 July ; To instill precious moral teachings among the students, MCM DAV College for Women organized a lecture by the renowned scholar Acharaya Dr. Dev Vratt ji today. Acharaya ji addressed the enrapt student body of the college in a discourse regarding the significance of moral and cultural values and urged them to follow a life of harmonious development between modernity and tradition. Quoting anecdotes from the life and experiences of Swami Dayanand Sarasvati, Greek philosophers, Chinese travelers and scientists, Acharaya ji recited the success story of women’s liberation in India and congratulated the women folk on their empowerment. He sang the glory of Swami Dayanand’s enormous efforts in uplifting the position of women in India. He reminded the students profusely about the importance of moral and traditional values in the evolution of a healthy and organic future and urged them to become well rounded women successful in their fields of career and excelling in the their traditional tasks of homemaking.
The lecture was followed by a musical rendition of these human values by Acharaya Daudyal Sharma ji. The students were so inspired by the lecture and the bhajans that they joined in the singing of devotional songs with the invited gurus and swayed in the musical environ. The guests congratulated the students of the college for their impeccable discipline and their values.
The Principal of the college, DR. (Mrs.) Puneet Bedi said that these events are exceedingly significant in nurturing the moral principles which are fast growing scarce in the world today. She said that the aims of MCM DAV College are not restricted to the imparting of textual knowledge and career oriented programmes but also towards the development of the society in an organic and harmonious nature, which cannot be complete without morality and culture.
