Dr.Avnish Jolly ,April 25, 2009: Today at Public Park opposite residence of Gopal Krishan Chatrath, a massive public rally was organized in support of Congress candidate Pawan Kumar Bansal. Around 6000 men and women from various Employees Federations, Teachers Unions, Sector Welfare Associations, Senior Citizens Associations, Christian organizations, Village Panchayats etc were present on the occasion.
Prominent amongst those who spoke on the occasion included Pawan Kumar Bansal, Rajbir Singh Padiala, former Vice President of Siromani Akali Dal who recently joined Congress, Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Dr. Ajaib Singh, former member PPSC, Councillors MPS Chawla, former Mayors Pradeep Chhabra & Subhash Chawla, Chairman of FOSWAC PC Sanghi, President of All India Federation of Non-Teaching Employees Union & Senator Dharampal Sharma, Prof. Manjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh Badheri and various other senior Congress leaders.
Addressing the mammoth gathering Gopal Krishan Chatrath said that vote for Congress is our contribution to unparallel and unprecedented development not only in city beautiful Chandigarh but in whole of India, towards which now World is looking for direction.
Rajbir Singh Padiala was of the view that Pawan Bansal role in enquiry against shameful event of a cash question scam in Parliament involving 10 MP’s, out of whom 6 were from BJP, has raised his status as a Parliamentarian with impeccable credentials.
Dr. Ajaib Singh in his address highlighted that its going to be a historic elections for a Government which is credited with opening new 8 IIT’s, 7 IIM’s, 5 IIS (Indian Institute of Science) and 15 Central University. That’s why with Rahul Gandhi in the lead youth of India is coming forward in an unprecedented manner to vote and support young leadership of Congress.
Anu Chatrath called upon people to vote for an honest and down to earth Dr. Manmohan Singh and not for conspirators of Babri Masjid demolition and a person who let out of India most wanted terrorists in Kandhar.
Dr. Emanual Nahar, Senator & President of Indian Christian Welfare Association assured on behalf of all Christian organizations that this time their votes will go enblock for Congress.
