Chandigarh 22 March : The Tribune Employees Union, Chandigarh hold a massive protest rally in front of The Tribune Office against illegal, mala fide and unwarranted charge-sheeting-cum-suspension of duly and democratically elected office-bearers and executive and active members of the Tribune Employees Union by the Tribune management recently.
Mr M.S. Yadav, general secretary, the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agencies (New Delhi), Mr Madan Talwar, general secretary, All India Newspaper Employees Federation, New Delhi, addressed the rally.
The speakers demanded that the Tribune management should immediately revoke the suspension-cum-chargesheeting of the office-bearers and executive and active members of the union otherwise a joint action committee of various employees union will be formed and the agitation against the illegal actions of the management will be intensified.Those who spoke on the occasions included Ms Sonia Sambar of Punjab Istri Sabha, Mr Bhupinder Singh Maheshwari, general secretary(Press) Bharatiya Kishan Union (Lakhowal) and BKU (Rajewal), Nirmal Singh, president AITUC and Bant Singh Brar, general Secretary, AITUC, Punjab, Mr Raghubir Sandhu, Chief Adviser, Joint Action Committee U.T.
