RADIO MASTERS-2012 on Road Safety
Launched at Police Headquarters, U.T. Chandigarh
Sanjay Pahwa, Chandigarh: When People make their habit to not to care about their safety & not to obey traffic rules, there are 2 ways to deal with it, (1) Be very strict with violators or (2) Educate them so nicely that they start following rules which cares for their safety.
Traffic Police, U.T., Chandigarh has decided to go the other way i.e., to educate the masses through their own children.
Imagine, when children will create entertaining Radio Dramas on various aspects of Road Safety & the adults listen to it on Radio, what will be the impact. It would certainly be tremendous. Not only that elders will learn to follow rules but the young students who are creating such stories & dramas will be a traffic educated “Next Generation”.
And this is the core theme of the activity named “RADIO MASTERS-2012” 5th Season of Inter School Radio Drama Comepetition, organized by IRJ “Institute of Radio Jockeying,
Today, it was officially launched at Police Headquarters Sec. 9 Chandigarh by the S.P. Traffic Police U.T. Chandigarh Sh. Maneesh Chaudhary who ‘declared the activity open’ assisted by Mrs Gunjan (IRJ)
Traffic police, U.T. Chandigarh has already started sponsoring the broadcasting & promotion of these Radio Dramas on A.I.R. 107.2 & 103.1 FM on every Monday & Tuesday at 9:45AM in morning one can also listen to entertaining & innovative Radio Dramas on road Safety on www.RadioChandigarh.com as well.
Mr. S.P. Singh, Director , IRJ “Insitute of Radio Jockeying”, tells further that after this launching, all schools are invited to register for this activity.
School teams will be given workshop by “IRJ” faculties in their school. Their scripts will be improvised by a panel of writers by “IRJ”. Finally Dramas will be recorded, edited & mixed with sound effects. Selected dramas will be broadcast till September, 2012.
Students will be rewarded for writing, acting, concepts, dialogues etc with trophies & certificates in an award ceremony later on. Every student will get a participation certificate.
Few workshops will also be held at “Traffic Park” Sector 23 Chandigarh, in summer vaccations. Any student can come & join in these workshops.
