UT, Home Secretary, Mr. Krishna Mohan releasing the Souvenir on the Consumer Day Celebrations at Nehru Park , Sector-22, Chandigarh on Friday,Chandigarh, March 14:- UT Home Secretary, Mr. Krishna Mohan was the Chief Guest at the function organized at Nehru Park, Sector 22, on the eve of 20th Consumer Mela 2008. The Mela is being organized by the Consumer Forum of Chandigarh in collaboration with UT Administration and Municipal Corporation. The Consumer Mela is being organized from March 13 to 16 to mark the World Consumer Right Day on March 15.On the occasion, Mr. Mohan released a souvenir titled
‘Consumer Forum Chandigarh Annual 2008’. While praising the Consumer forum, Mr. Mohan said that the forum is known for protecting the rights and working for the betterment of public.
Also helps Administration in educating, making aware and delivering justice to people.Mr. Mohan further added, that the zeal, effort, dedication and enthusiasm put up by the members of the forum for public service is commendable. Administration is ready to extend its support to the forum, he added.
Information Centre has been set up in the mela for making consumer aware of their rights. A complaint centre has also been set up for the collection of complaints from the general public. Awareness counter from the departments of Telecom, Food and Supply, Weight and Measure and Traffic
Police have also been established in the Mela.Various competitions organized during the four day mela include poster making, on the spot painting, healthy baby,musical chair, Best out of the waste, Medical and Dental Checkup
