Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament today started a new initiative “Sansad Aapke Dwar” Program from Sector-56. This Program is aimed at resolving people’s issues attheir door step. Uder this program she will be visiting different areas of thecity to listen to problems of people and there by taking it up with theofficers of Chandigarh Administration. The first “Sansad Aapke Dwar”program started today with Smt. Kirron Kher first visiting Government Senior SecondarySchool, Sector-56 and later community centre, Sector-56. She planted trees atthe school and later addressed students. She asked the students to plant moreand more trees and also take care later on. She met Principal and staff membersof the school.
Later she visited communitycentre in Sector-56 and listened to the problems of residents of the sector.The residents complained that there is no shopping complex in the sector. Smt.Kher felt that this is genuine demand of residents as shopping complex is very importantfor residents. One of the women present there requested that there should besome reservation in the allotment of booths for female widows. The people alsorequested for E-Sampark centre in their sector. They said that they have to goto Palsora to avail services of E-Sampark Centre.
The residents demanded thatGovernment Elementary School in the sector should be upgraded to senior secondarylevel as the strength of the students is increasing continuously in the sector.They also demanded that Non-Medical, Medical and Commerce streams should bestarted in Government Senior Secondary School. The residents demanded thatthere is no CTU bus from this sector to Sector-17 and Railway station and thebus service is immediately needed. Anganwadi Workers requested for more remunerationand more space in the centres.
Residents of Palsora Colonyrequested for conducting fresh survey as some of them were not present when thesurvey for rehabilitation was conducted. Later on Residents welfare associationsubmitted memorandum to Smt. Kirron Kher. They highlighted problems of sewerage,shortage of water supply etc. After listening to their problems Smt. Kher gavethem assurance that each and every problem highlighted here will be taken upwith the officials of administration on priority basis and will be sorted outat the earliest.
