To promote the concept of “Green Economy” and “Sustainable Development”, delegates from 22 countries of the world, today visited KB DAV-7, Chandigarh and joined in a Cycle Rally with KB DAV-7 Peace Club members to promote awareness about environment and the need to preserve the diminishing resources for the future generations.
300 Delegates are herein Chandigarh to participate in the 6 day long 11th International Youth Peace Festival 2011. KB DAV-7, Chandigarh played a host to delegates from France, London, Bangalore, China, Burma, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore etc. Principal Madhu Bahl gave all the delegates a traditional welcome with a glimpse of mythology. The KB DAV-7 children dressed as Ram, Sita, Laxman, Hanuman, Angad and Raavan greeted and mesmerized the guests with their stunning costumes. It seemed Ramayan and ethereal characters came to life. The school rally was flagged off by the Principal Madhu Bahl along with enthusiastic Cyclists and special Rath Yatra was taken out on the occasion of Peace Festival. Mr. Sunil Sharma, Photographer, playing role of “Raavan” at the state level amused the delegates with his powerful dialogues.
Active participation of senior KB DAV-7 Peace Club students was witnessed where in they showed their understanding on the concept of “Green Wars” and “Sustainable Development”.
Natasha Rego, Manager – Program and Public Relation from Vedike – an eco residential school and Global Citizens, shared her views on the necessity of Global Living and floated ideas on rainwater harvesting.
