2 Sep, Chandigarh :Kailash Bahl DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh was awarded with First Prize in 5th National Computer Literacy Excellence Award for Schools 2007 and the State award on the same platform at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The school was declared as a National awardee with First Prize which consists of a magnificent trophy, certificate and a cash award of Rs. 7.00 Lac and the state award consists of separate trophy, certificate and cash award of Rs. 1.50 Lac. Both the awards were given to Principal Madhu Bahl by the august hands of Hon’ble Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology Sh. Thiru A. Raja and Hon’ble Minister of States for Communication and Information Technology Sh. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in fully packed Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi in the presence of around 100 principals of different schools from all over India and teachers from different school on 28th August 2008 (Thursday) and in presence of all Senior Officials of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. The school received first the State Award and then was declared as the First National Winner on the basis of parameters fixed up for nominating the best national awardee school in recognition of distinguished performance in imparting computer education. The school has been designated as high-tech school in imparting and using the latest technology for providing day to day computer education to the school students and training the children with the best of technical knowledge by exposing them to the most cutting edge technologies so that they are ready to be the front runners of tomorrow and contribute to the society and the nation to the best of their abilities.
Principal Madhu Bahl is already a recipient of most prestigious National Award for Teachers by the President of India for her meritorious services in the field of education and social services. She is also the recipient of the State Award by the Chandigarh Administration and CBSE National Coveted Award from the Ministry of Human Resource and "Punjab Rattan Award" by Governor of Haryana His Excellency Dr. A.R. Kidwai.
