Chandigarh, September 1st: Justice (Retd.) N.K. Aggrawal, Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, Union Territory of Chandigarh visited the office of the Authority today. The office of the Police Complaints Authority is situated in the Annexe of U.T. Secretariat, Sector 9, Chandigarh. Justice (Retd.) N.K. Aggrawal will have regular hearings on every Monday from 10.00 a.m. onwards.
The citizens can submit their complaints to the staff deployed in the office of the Police Complaints Authority. Besides, a complaint box will also be kept out-side the office of the Authority so that citizens can submit their complaints by dropping them in the complaint box at any time. Proper record of all the complaints will be kept by maintaining a register by the office. All the complaints received during the week will be heard on the next Monday by the Authority.
The Police Complaints Authority has been constituted by the Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh under the Punjab Police Act to inquire into the allegations of serious misconduct against the police personnel. The Authority can make an inquiry either suo moto or on a complaint received from any other source. Complaints can also be referred to the Authority by the Administrator.
