CHANDIGARH, MAY 8:Eighteen-year-old Jagmeet Singh, a student of BA I in DAV College, Sector 10, has thrown an open challenge to ‘The Great Khali’ , a star peformer in WWF in USA, to fight him if he is a real wrestler. Practising under Chandigarh Sports Department wrestling coach Darshan Lal for the last five years, Jagmeet who hails from village Ishanpur, near Derabassi, was willing to fight Dalip Singh Rana (Khali), who hails from village Dhirana of Himachal Pradesh, any where in the world and in any style — Greco-Roman or Freestyle.
"If Khali defeats me, I will reward him with Rs 5 lakh," said junior National Champion Jagmeet with a roar. Six-feet and 10 feet tall, 125 kg frame, Jagmeet said "if Khali is a great wrestler, he should qualify for 2008 Beijing Olympics and bring an Olympic medal for India." Jagmeet is son of reputed farmer Charanjit Singh Toana.Young Chandigarh wrestler is the second Indian wrestler to challenge Dalip Singh Rana, who is an employee of Punjab Police. Earlier, Olympian Palwinder Singh Cheema had challeged The Khali to fight him in any style of wrestler. In case the Khali wins, Cheema had announced that he would surrender his Rushtem-e-Hind title.
