Chandigarh, Mar 26 : North India’s fastest growing and world class multispecialty healthcare centre, Ivy Hospital in association with the Grewal Eye Institute (GEI) is going to add one more feather in its cap by establishing a most sophisticated Ophthalmology Department in the hospital. The friendly and affordable hospital already has 20 functional departments.
Mr Gurtej Singh, CEO, Ivy Hospital, said, “Ivy is one of the most modern and comprehensive tertiary hospitals of of the tricity. It has set up state of the art super specialty departments in collaboration with the highly qualified and reputed doctors and leading healthcare companies. GEI has formed a joint venture with Ivy Hospital, Mohali, with a view to cater to patients from Mohali and surrounding areas.”
Dr S P S Grewal, CEO, GEI, said, “Our mission is to consolidate our position and provide a lively future to our patients with the best facilities available at our institute. Currently we have two branches, one is in City Beautiful and another in Panchkula. People from Mohali and adjoining areas suffer a lot to approach us. So, for the convenience of the patients, we have planned to have a branch in Mohali.”
On the joint venture with Ivy, he said,”It is recession time. So, instead of spending money on land and building, we preferred to spend it on manpower and equipments. We found the best option in tying up with some local hospital and Ivy Hospital is the only one, which has outstanding departments. In the venture, Ivy will provide us infrastructure and we will operate from their premises with the name GEI on a profit sharing basis from that particular branch. The department will be operational in the coming 2-3 months.”
Ivy has around 20 functional departments right now, some of the main departments included Cardiology, Oncology, Urology, Renal Transplant Surgery, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Endocrinology, Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, Radiology, Dentistry, Blood Bank, etc. The hospital, country’s first health mall, has successfully completed one year. It has around 190 beds and all the required facility within its premises.
