CHANDIGARH- March 19, 2010: The Dept of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies of P.U. would organize an International Seminar on New Perspectives of Bani-Chintan in Globalized Era on 25th March 2010 at the English Auditorium, P.U. Campus. Prof S.S. Noor, Vice- President of Sahit Academy of Delhi would present the key note address; Prof. R.C. Sobti Vice-Chancellor Panjab University would inaugurate the seminar. Dr. Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia Vice-Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Vishv University would preside over the function, Prof. John Pickering University of Warwick (U.K.) & Ms. Veena Verma (U.K.) will be the Guests of Honour.
Many scholars and renowned personalities from different parts of the world would participate. S. Mota Singh (England), Darshan Dheer (Canada), K.S. Pannu (Canada), Mrs. Balbir Kaur Sanghera, Principal Sarwan Singh (Canada), Mr. Kanwarjot Singh(Canada), Mrs. Paramjit Kaur Uppal (Canada) are the foreign delegates. Prof. Darshan Singh, Prof. Jagbir Singh, Prof. Amarjit Singh Kaang, Prof. Manjit Singh, Prof. Mahinder Kaur Gill, Prof. Jagjit Singh, Prof. Surjit Singh Bhatti, Dr. Beant Kaur and Dr. Balwinder Singh would present their papers. Talking about the theme of the seminar Prof. Jaspal Kaur Kaang, Chairperson of the Dept. expressed that scholars would discuss how Bani-Chintan could provide the solution for the problems occurring in the modern society of globalized world. Scholars would also study the Bani of Gurus, Sants and Bhagats from new aspects of knowledge.
