22 April : Panjab University Chemistry Professor S.K.Mehta, Honorary DAAD Advisor and recipient of prestigious German DAAD fellowship, Authors award of Royal Society of Chemistry, U.K., JSPS invitation fellowship of Japan and DST-DAAD PPP, has been awarded Indo-Japanese joint research project “Structure studies of electric double layer of organized amphiphile films using total reflection XAFS” in collaboration with Prof. Makoto Aratono from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. Dr. G. R. Chaudhary (Co-PI) and research students will visit Japan for intensifying the research work. The objective is to intensify interaction and research activities by exchange visits among research groups in India and Japan through funding of scholars who participate in cooperative research projects. Prof. Mehta has made several visits abroad for collaborative research. He has contributed extensively to the international scientific literature in the form of 6 books and more than 110 publications.
