16 Dec :To Commemorate the Indian victory over Pakistan in Bangladesh war in 1971, VIJAY DIVAS was celebrated by some army officers headed by Dr. (Col) N. K. Bhatia and Sai Tara Ummat Foundation in a novel way by holding a Free Bone Density Check-up Camp for Senior Citizens in Sector 33, Chandigarh.
Senior citizens from Chandigarh, Mohali and Manimajra availed the facility. About 150 citizens were examined and medicines were provided Free to them wherever required. They highly appreciated the gesture of the Foundation and Dr. Bhatia in helping them.
Sh. A. K. Ummat, Chairman of the Foundation, lauded the initiative of Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Mrs. B. Bhatia in providing such an important test to the Senior Citizens not only totally free of cost, which normally costs Rs. 1500/- to 2000/- in the market, but arranging this facility which is not easily available in most of the clinics in Chandigarh, although every person above the age of 60 years does need to know about his bone density structure. He emphasized that celebrating important events in this manner should be followed by all, specially the NGOs, so that needy persons of the society could be helped. He hoped that similar camps will be held on regular basis in future also.
Dr. Bhatia explained that he had to struggle hard to get the latest machine from Mumbai for which he was highly grateful to the Company M/s Elder Pharmaceutical Limited. He also thanked M/s Jagson Pal Pharmaceutical, New Delhi for donating medicines for this camp in a liberal way. Dr. Bhatia thanked Dr. Deepti and other Doctors who made all arrangements for this camp in such a cold weather.
