20 Aug : The Physics Association of SGGS College, Chandigarh celebrated its inaugural function today. The function was presided by S. Gurdev Singh Brar, President, Sikh Education Society. Professor Manmohan Gupta , former Chairman, Deptt. of Physics and President, Regional Council of Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT ) was the guest of honour.
The function was inaugurated by S. Brar by blessing the students and staff. Professor Gupta in his address emphasized upon the role of teaching of Physics in the development of the society. He added that the role of demonstrative experiments in popularization of science amongst students is of pertinent and foremost importance.
The demos of low cost Physics experiments on various topics by Prof M S Marwaha, HoD Physics in the college were enjoyed and applauded by science and arts students alike. Prof Marwaha has already won laurels for the college by organizing such shows in various schools and colleges in Chandigarh and adjoining states. Dr P S Gill, in charge, Physics Association thanked guests, students and teachers for having made the function a success.
