By Vivek, Chandigarh, August 1: The High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) Scheme has been officially launched in UT, Chandigarh on August1, 2011, by the Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Mr. K.K.Sharma, in the presence of Home Secretary-cum-Secretary, Transport, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Ram Niwas, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Brijendra Singh and all other officers of the Chandigarh Administration. In case of the new vehicles this HSRP shall come into force w.e.f, August 1, 2011. As far as already registered old vehicles are concerned the vehicle owners are required to take the necessary steps so as to fasten HSRP to their vehicles, within two years from the above mentioned date.
