A high alert has been sounded and security strengthened across Punjab, neighbouring Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh in the wake of the terror attack.
Additional security personnel have been deployed around vital installations and key public places in the state and along its borders with Jammu and Kashmir.
BSF, which guards the Indo-Pak border, has also been put on high alert after the incident.
An alert has been sounded in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan also in view of the attack. There is high vigil particularly in areas adjoining the Punjab border.
