The India Post, Chandigarh October 2: Health Minister,Punjab Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla today underlined the need for adopting healthy way of life to keep away the ‘lifestyle diseases’.
Speaking before flagging of ‘Run for Good Health’ organized by Employees State Insurance Corporation here today in which industrialists, employers, industrial workers and their family members participated, the Health Minister said that it was unfortunate that sedentary lifestyle in the urban areas was responsible for most of the diseases being faced by us. She said that if every citizen devotes one hour daily for physical exercise and yoga, he can keep himself healthy through out the life.
Later on the Health Minister flagged off the Run for Good Health from ESI Dispensary Sector 29. The three and half Kilometer long run ended at ESI Corporation office in Sector-19, Chandigarh.
Later in the day Mr. Sanjay Kumar Finance Secretary U.T gave away prizes to the winners of the Marathon. Mr. G.C. Jena Regional Director ESI, Mr. Ramesh Chander Medical Superintendent ESI were also present on the occasion.
