By Vivek, Chandigarh, July 13: A Health Mela was organized by Health Department, U.T, Chandigarh under National Rural Health Mission on July 12, in the ground of Gurdwara of Village Faidan, Chandigarh. This Health Mela was inaugurated by Dr. Chander Mohan, Mission Director, NRHM – cum-Director Health Services, U.T, Chandigarh in the presence of senior officials. Jan Sankhya Sthirtha Pakhwara (Population Stabilization Fortnight) is being celebrated Nationwide. UT Administration Chandigarh started the awareness/ Demand generation campaign for Chota Parivaar Sampooran Parivaar Vikas by organizing two camps and a Health mela. 1050 patients were examined by various specialists of all the departments. Mission Director, NRHM –cum- Director Health & Family Welfare, UT Chandigarh along with senior health officers visited the exhibition area of the Mela. They also inaugurated a special family planning camp at CHC- Manimajra on July11, 2011. Another such camp was held at CD- Maulijagran.
