Sanjay Pahwa, Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Traffic Police has been intimated by the State Transport, SAS Nagar that as recommended by Traffic Police, action has been taken against the following habitual traffic offenders under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988:-

The aforementioned offender is debarred from driving during the period of suspension. The Chandigarh Traffic Police requests the citizens to intimate the particulars (Name, Residential Address & Vehicle Number) of persons known to be habitual traffic offenders in their locality to the Traffic Helpline Telephone No.1073 (Toll free). The Chandigarh Traffic Police shall verify such information against available computerized record of traffic offenders and recommend cases of such habitual offenders for disqualification/revocation of their driving licenses U/Section 19 of MV Act, 1988 to the concerned Licensing Authority. Till now Chandigarh Traffic Police has recommended 333 cases to the RLA Chandigarh and other States for suspension of driving licence, out of which 257 alleged habitual offenders have been awarded punishment by the RLA Chandigarh & other States. People are advised to follow traffic rules, otherwise strict action will be taken against the traffic violators as per law.
