CHANDIGARH, SEPT 9 :Punjab Governor General (Retd) SF Rodrigues, who is also Chandigarh Administrator, today congratualted the members of the Chandigarh Football Academy team, its coaches and other staff for winning the glittering sixth Administrator’s Challenge Cup All-India Football Tournament for Under-19 by overcome formidable Mohun Bagan Sail Football Academy of Kolkata by 4-1 in the final played at the Sector 17 Football Stadium.
Expressing his happiness over the CFA’s title triumph, the Punjab Governor said that "the efforts of the Chandigarh Administration have started bearing fruits. The boys are training hard under the supervision of their coaches."
The training schedule in Germany has made the boys more sturdy and skillful. The Chandigarh Sports Department is ensuring that continuity in their training is maintained. German coach Andre Khun is here up to September 19.
Chandigarh Sports Director Inderjit Singh Sandhu praised the academy players for giving their best performance "They have started performing to our expectations. The CF Academy boys and coaches deserve full marks," complimented Sandhu.
