CHANDIGARH, July 11:Chandigarh Cricket Association-Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36 will lock horns with Bhavan Vidaylaya of Panchkula in the final of the Inter-Academy Under-15 Cricket Tournament for Mount Shivalik Trophy being conducted by Desh Prem Azad Academy at St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here.
In the second semi-final match played today, CCA-GNPS Academy, bolstered by an unbeaten 53 runs by Manan Vohra and his 76-run opening wicket partnership with Jaskaran, registered easy nine-wicket verdict over Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy.
Manan Vohra slammed eight fours and one six as GNPS Academy overtook DPAC Academy’s total in 16.1 overs. They made 90 for the loss of opener Jaskaran’s wicket who was run after contributing 22 runs with the help of four fours. Naveen remained not out on 3.
Earlier, DPAC Academy won the toss and elected to bat. Their innings collapsed for 86 runs in 34 overs. Sachit Nayyar (20, 2x4s) and Abhilash Sharma (29, 3x4s, 1×6) played defiant knocks. Prakshit Rana scored 11.
Kshitij (2 for 9) and Karan Goel (2 for 16) were mainly responsible for restricting Azad Academy’s score.
