19 Dec : Maintaining its tradition of excelling in Academic and Extra-Curricular activities, Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, swept most of the Music and Literary prizes in the recently concluded North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh. More than 18 Universities from the North Zone participated in the festival.
Ms. Meetika, BA-II, bagged the 1st Prize in Indian Semi-Classical Vocal Solo and 2nd Prize in Western Solo Competition.Ms. Pallavi, BA-III was a member of the 1st Prize winner PU Debate team.
Ms. Amrita, BA-III, stood 3rd in the Poetry Recitation Competition.
The team of Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Ms. Anshumati, Ms. Rishampreet Kaur, Ms. Sunita Negi, Ms. Pooja Sharma and Ms. Chhaya Sharma won the Indian Group Song competition.

Dr. Promila Kaushal, Principal of the college highly applauded the winning performances of the students and appreciated the hard work put in by Mr. Harvinder Singh, Mr. Sriniwas and Mr. Avirbhav who directed the music items.
