2 Sep : The Installation Ceremony of the student’s council was held at Govt. Home Science College , sector-10, Chandigarh wherein 22 students holding various designations took oath to do their best for the Institution and the Students’ Community. The Chief guest, Dr. (Mrs.) Rita G. Singh, principal of the college put ‘tilak’ on the foreheads of the Council Members and decorated them with their badges. Garima Saxena was designated as President, Apoorva Tandon as Vice President, Disha Joshi as Secretary, Bhavina Aggarwal as Press Incharge and Kalyani Singh as Post Graduate Representative/Press Incharge for the session 2009-10. In her Speech, the college principal inspired the students to serve the community to their best capacity with their diverse knowledge of Home Science.

The Installation Ceremony was followed by a talk by Prof. Vidhu Mohan, an eminant psychologist on “Socio- cultural relevance of youth values in contemporary society.” In her talk, she stressed on personality development and self motivation and said that the motivaton should come from within us with regard to its apt purpose. The talk was followed by an interactive session among Prof. Vidhu Mohan, faculty members and the students of the college.
